The Swedish Forest Agency is looking for someone who wants to work as a forest consultant focusing on conservation management in protected areas and providing advice to landowners regarding nature and cultural measures in the forest, Nokås.

You will have extensive contact with landowners, contractors, and employees within the forestry sector. As a forest consultant, you will have a job with varied and stimulating tasks as well as ongoing professional development. You will be part of a team with other experienced officials in conservation and area protection.

The Work Includes

To preserve biodiversity in the forest landscape, the Swedish Forest Agency continuously works on the management of natural values in forest environments with high natural values.

You will assess and plan which management measures are required to promote high natural values in protected areas. Examples of management measures include thinning, clearing, arborist services, or similar. You will, among other things, write management agreements and decisions and follow up on the ongoing management work in the forest and inspect after the work is completed. To perform the work, close contact with landowners and contractors is required. Your work will take place both in the field and in the office.

Qualifications

You have a scientific university degree in biology or another relevant education. Relevant work experience is an advantage. We prefer that you have experience in forestry conservation issues and good knowledge of forest-dwelling conservation species. Experience in public authority exercise and administrative law is also an advantage, as well as knowledge of the Environmental Code and the Forest Act. We value good IT/GIS skills.

We place great importance on your personal qualities. You are thoughtful, flexible, can handle many tasks simultaneously, and are not afraid to make decisions. You have the ability to weigh complex information and take responsibility for ensuring that your cases are handled in a legally secure and communicative manner. You express yourself easily in both speech and writing.

You have a value system and integrity that allows you to identify with the requirements that the role of a civil servant entails. You should engage and communicate with people in various situations in a trustworthy and respectful manner.

A driver's license (B) is required, as well as good capacity and experience working in the field.

Our Offer to You

We offer a permanent position at 100% starting with a 6-month probationary period. The start date is as soon as possible or as agreed. The position is based at our office in Hässleholm.

We apply individual salary setting, remote work agreements, and trust-based working hours. There is an opportunity to work from home to some extent.
